About Eva
Eva Hribernik works as a theater and opera director both in Slovenia and internationally. After completing her dramaturgy studies at the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television in Ljubljana, she graduated in opera directing at the Accademia per L'Opera Italiana in Verona. In 2014, in a co-production of the Slovenian Chamber Music Theater and Glasbena matica Ljubljana, she staged the modern Slovenian opera for children "Kaznovana radomnost" by the composer Pavel Šivica. In 2015, she was selected for the Competition for Directors in Rome, within the framework of which she directed Gianluca Arene's contemporary Italian drama "Cenere" at Teatro Elettra, and in Verona she staged "The Marriage of Figaro" at Palazzo Camozzini in the same year ” by WA Mozart.
In 2016, she auditioned for theater creators at the Teatro Due in Parma for the project "Alta formazione per il Teatro - Casa degli Artisti", within the framework of which she participated as an assistant director in the staging of two productions: "The Beggar's Opera" by John Gay and Euripides " Alcestides”. In Modena, in 2016, she led a stage interpretation seminar for opera singers for the second time as part of the ALEF Cultural Society and a Master Class with tenor Chris Merritt. In 2016, she also directed the contemporary opera by composer Tom Kobet, "Under the free sun", which was performed at the Janez Trdina Cultural Center in Novi Mesto.
In February 2017, in the co-production of SKGG, Cankarjev dom Ljubljana and the Slovenian Percussion Project - StoP, she directed the operatic black comedy for three actors and three apparitions "God's Particle", composed by Pavel Mihelčič and librettist Milan Dekleva. In October 2017, she also directed the chamber opera "Ada" by composer Tomaž Svetet, based on a dramatic text by Ivo Svetina, and in November 2017, the romantic opera "Deseti brat" by composer Aleš Makovec, at the Slovenian National Theater of Opera and Ballet in Ljubljana. staged at the Janez Trdina Cultural Center in Novi Mesto. In 2018, in addition to the adventure musical "Madagascar", she also directed the opera-ballet fairy tale "The Lord in Pears", composed by Dušan Bavdek, and Nyman's chamber opera "The Man Who Had a Wife for a Hat", which was staged at SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana.
In the co-production of AG and AGRFT UL, she led and directed the production "Mini Opera II.", which was toured in Ljubljana, Budapest and Brno in January and February 2019. In June 2019, she directed the music-theatre performance "Ex-Odus radosti" by the composer Natasha Bogojevich, which premiered at the Stari mestna Elektrarna in Ljubljana. In October 2019, she received the international award "Premio Internazionale Universum Donna 2019" for her work in the cultural and artistic field, awarded by the professional and international jury of the Universum Academy Switzerland - International University of Peace.
